Abstract

The need for self-care is an act that provides care that is universal, related to human life and is influenced by experience, skills, beliefs and motivation. According to WHO hypertension is defined a condition of increasing systolic blood pressure> 140 mmHg diastolic blood pressure> 90 mmHg. Regular exercise should a good effect on the body’s system, the more often you do exercise, blood pressure can decrease optimally. For this reason, light sports such as simple gymnastic movements can be carried out by the elderly, so that exercise compliance in the elderly should be achieved. Our study object to determine the level of exercise adherence in the elderly hypertension. This study was conducted using a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, our research targets were elderly people with hypertension aged > 60 years and over. Selfcare is subdivided into two, selfcare agency related to nursing care support and health education, selfabilities related to individual abilities, sport routines and individual timeliness sport. The resistivity factor compliance sport is influenced by the physical condition of elderly. This affects individual activity, which also includes sports. Efforts of elderly when obstacles arise by rest.
