Abstract

The incidence of stunting in North Sulawesi is above 20%. The inadequate self-efficacy of mothers is one of the factors causing stunting. Through health interventions Health coaching is expected to reduce the incidence. The purpose of this study is to find out the effect of health coaching on the self-efficacy of mothers who have toddlers. This research was carried out in August 2022 in the Taratara Village, West Tomohon District, Tomohon City, North Sulawesi Province. Research method, Quasi Experimental with pre-test post-test with control group design. For a population of 510 mothers with under-fives, the sample was determined using a purposive sampling technique with inclusion and exclusion criteria of 64 respondents divided by 32 respondents each in the intervention (health coaching intervention) and control (module delivery) groups. The research instrument of the self-efficacy questionnaire has been tested for validity and reliability with results (r count > 0.361 (r table)) and reliable (cronbach alpha ≥ 0.6). The research results obtained self-efficacy before and after treatment in both groups with a p value <0.05. Based on this research, it is hoped that this health efficacy method can be implemented in other areas to reduce the incidence of stunting.
